Taiwanese Specialties (@ Shin Yeh)

This restaurant is on my must-eat list whenever I visit Taiwan. It does't serve fancy Chinese banquet delicacies.  Instead, it's all about local, Taiwanese home cooking. Love! 

Traditional Taiwanese spring roll is one of my favorite foods. I have fond childhood memories of learning how to pile on various fixings onto two thin pieces of wrapper and rolling them into perfectly sized (ie. as big as you can make it without ripping the wrapper) spring roll. I am quite proud of the fact that I am a great spring roll roller...if there is such a thing. I still prefer the homemade spring rolls that I grew up on, but these pre-rolled ones are decent substitutes.

It is also known for its sweet potatoes congee (bottom left in the photo).  This is an all you can eat pot of congee for the table, that gets refilled at request.
