The name PB Steak is a bit misleading. The space is more of a casual beer hall than a stuffy steakhouse. It's one of the several offshoots of the popular Pubbelly, a gastropub that's just down the street. I quite like the atmosphere of the restaurant.
We ordered a few appetizers to share. The Brussels Sprouts and the Bacon wrapped Dates were probably the better dishes. Unfortunately, I couldn't convince my dining companions to try the Crispy Pig Ears with Sriracha.
The waitress raved about PB's version of corn on the cob. Well…it was just ok.
For a restaurant with "Steak" in its name, the steak was really subpar. The sauce couldn't cover up the fact that the steak was flavorless.
The Miso Black Cod was good, but hasn't this dish been done to death since the 90s?
I did like their interpretation of S'mores served in a mason jar.
Verdict: BBB-. I was very underwhelmed. Maybe the original Pubbelly is better. Otherwise, I really don't understand the hype of the growing Pubbelly empire.
