Came here for brunch on the last day of our Portland trip. The weather was crappy so unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy their outdoor garden.
Like other good brunch places in Portland, this place was bustling on Sunday morning! They do take reservations, which is a big plus. We were a party of 5, which apparently is a hard number to seat in Portland, as we were told repeatedly over the weekend. Most restaurants seem to only have tables of 2s or 4s. The staff at VQ was extremely accommodating and we managed to squeeze into a four-person booth.
After having such good "hash" dishes at both Tasty n Alder and Mother's, I immediately gravitated toward the special of the day: Ribeye Hash! The dish was good, but not amazing. A bit of a letdown in fact.
While everyone enjoyed their respective dishes, no one was blown away by the meal. I think we were all a bit spoiled by the amazing food in Portland by this point of our trip that our expectations were simply too high.
The dessert was also perfectly OK, but no memorable.
With so many great restaurants in Portland, this one doesn't quite make the cut for me.
