After OD'ing on lobsters, we moved on to oysters and crabs. This oyster bar has a wide variety of oysters from all over, with a strong representation from Maine, of course.
Oysters can be ordered by the half dozen or a dozen.
My friend thoroughly enjoyed her pick of half-dozen oysters. She said the oysters were extremely fresh. She especially enjoyed the Maine varieties from Damariscotta.
I opted for the Peekytoe crab roll. The roll was quite small, which suited me fine since I had a huge lobster roll just hours earlier. This bun was more of a Chinese "bao" than a hotdog bun. I prefer the typical toasted, buttered, white bread bun. The roll was stuffed with real crabmeat with maybe a smidget of mayo. In theory it should be super yummy, but somehow I found it to be just ok. It was a bit lacking in flavor for me. I didn't taste the sweetness of the crabmeat. In fact, I found the whole roll to be a bit bland and lacking in flavor.
If you like oysters, definitely check this place out!
