Red's Eats

I was in Maine for a friend's wedding.  There were a lot of chatter amongst the wedding guests as to where to go for the best lobster roll.  Almost everyone noticed Red's Eats on the drive from Portland to Camden, the location of the wedding.

There seems to be a constant queue at this little lobster shack in Wacasset.  We probably waited in line for 30-45 minutes.

As the sign noted, there's more than 1 whole lobster in each lobster roll.  My lobster roll had 2 lobster tails in it!  Red's is perfect for the lobster roll purists.  The rolls are stuffed with plain lobster meat and nothing else.  Warm melted butter and Mayo are served on the side only.  After inhaling the entire lobster roll, I still couldn't decide if I prefer my lobster with mayo or butter...

The lobster roll was super yummy and a huge bang for the buck at $14.95!  I do wish the lobster meat was cut into smaller pieces before being stuffed into the bun.  It was not easy to bite into a whole lobster tail.  Most people ended up eating the lobster roll with a fork and knife.

This shack is definitely a must on any road trip around Maine.
