The Marrow

Finally got a chance to check out the much-hyped The Marrow.  The space was cozier than I had expected.  Less "sceney" and more "neighborhoody", which I appreciated.

The signature dish, Bone marrow topped with Uni.  Can we say RICH?!

The foie gras terrine was nothing special.

The Duck Schnitzel was spot on!  Perfectly fried and not too oily.  Love the stewed wolf berries on the side.  I would come back for this dish alone!

The dessert was a miss for me.  The cake wasn't very moist and the dish really didn't come together.  It felt like they just threw some fruits and ice-cream on top of a cake.

GINGER STOUT CAKE WITH ROASTED PEACHES AND HONEY ICE-CREAM.

GINGER STOUT CAKE WITH ROASTED PEACHES AND HONEY ICE-CREAM.

Verdict: A+.  Although I didn't love everything I tried, there was enough good to warrant a return visit…partially because I really like the ambience of the restaurant.
