Cafe St. Régis

Catching up with my Paris bestie at our favorite cafe on Il St. Louis. This is the cafe where we had spent countless summer evenings sipping rosés and people watching the summer that I lived in Paris.

Given the chilly weather, we opted for an inside table on this particular visit.  The dim lighting and old-school bistro decor further evoked my feeling of nostalgia.

Verdict:  This cafe will always have a special place in my heart.

Joséphine Chez Dumonet

One of the first restaurants I tried during my 2 month holiday in Paris.  This old-school bistro makes the best Beef Bourguignon that I have ever tasted! The meat was very tender and the thick stew was perfectly seasoned.  Since I was there for lunch, I opted for the smaller portion of Bourguignon. After my first bite, I regretted not getting the larger portion.

The Duck Confit was outstanding as well.

The Grand Marnier Soufflé came with a shot of Grand Marnier! The soufflé was very light and airy, but I found the liqueur to be a bit too overpowering.

Verdict: AAA; My favorite classic French Bistro in Paris
