Beautiful weather, weekend brunch, and Williamsburg go hand in hand. Judging from the line of people waiting outside the restaurant when we arrived at noon, I'd say I am not the only person who thinks so. Like most popular brunch spots, Sweet Chick doesn't take reservations for brunch. We waited about 30 minutes for a shared table.
Of course we got the Chicken 'N Waffles. I mean, the name of the dish is on the signage of the restaurant! The chicken was very moist. The crispy skin has a hint of rosemary, which I really liked. The waffles were good, but could have been a bit crispier. The dish came with 3 different types of house-made butter: regular, rosemary, and strawberry; all very good.
Drinks were served in mason jars. The Arnold Palmer, custom-made by Brooklyn Soda Work for the restaurant, was very tasty. Fresh-squeezed orange juice, which is a must for any good brunch, passed the test as well.
The meal is solid enough to warrant a return visit. (I've already got my eyes on a few other items on the menu…)
